Attorney Mark P. Cressman is a second generation Floridian. He is a graduate of the University of Florida and earned his law degree from Nova Southeastern University in 1994. He is admitted to practice in all courts in Florida including all United States District Courts.
In his final semester of law school at Nova Southeastern University's Shepard Broad Law Center, Mr. Cressman was permitted to practice law as an Assistant Attorney General in Knoxville, Tennessee. As a prosecutor, Mr. Cressman successfully tried an armed burglary case against a former law enforcement officer who, after attending law school, began committing crimes as opposed to stopping crimes.
Upon his graduation from law school and return to Florida Mr. Cressman began representing insurance companies and defending claims involving automobile accidents, motorcycle accidents, slip and falls, nursing home abuse, dental malpractice and medical malpractice claims. In 2002, Mr. Cressman relocated his practice to Central Florida where he continued to defend insurance companies, physicians, nurses in and around Central Florida. At the same time, Mr. Cressman was one of a select few attorneys who were permitted to represent the physicians and staff at the University Of Florida School Of Medicine.
In 2004, Mr. Cressman stopped defending insurance companies and began exclusively representing injured victims and their families in matters including the violation of civil rights of prisoners, wrongful employment terminations, false imprisonment, sexual assault of students by school employees, medical negligence, dental negligence, car accidents, trucking accidents, and slip and fall accidents.
At the same time Mr. Cressman has assisted his clients with making sure that they have the ability to die with dignity as well as ensuring that their last wishes are carried out after they are gone. Mr. Cressman is able to assist his clients with ensuring the distribution of their property at the time of their death. Through the use of wills, trusts, living wills, and powers of attorney, Mr. Cressman has assisted many clients with carrying out their personal wishes after they are gone.
Mr. Cressman is an active member of the Florida Bar, Orange County Bar Association, American Association for Justice as well as the Florida Justice Association. He has also volunteered his time as part of the Justice at Stake campaign to keep America’s courts fair, impartial and free from political interference.
Mr. Cressman is married and has two sons.
